So you've named your cat "Q". The bumper sticker on your car reads "My other car is the Millenium Falcon". You start affecting a British accent after watching Doctor Who. You own dice that have more than six sides. You sometimes mutter spells under your breath and marvel that they don't work (if they do work... I wanna meet you). You secretly hope to bitten by a radioactive spider or wish you could go on a quest for Shikon Jewel shards. And you might even have more toys now than you ever had as …
We are the oxymoron to the geek and nerd stereotype - the "social" nerds and the "chic" geeks. Sure, we love Battlestar Galactica, but that doesn't mean we can't hold our own at a high class social function. Yes, we can debate the finer points of whether Han shot first, but we can also jump into the fray and talk about the latest in pop culture. Although we can explain the relation between a "Hobbit" and a "Halfling" to someone, it doesn't mean that we locked ourselves away from society and stud …

We are a group of writers who enjoy imaginative, perhaps even offbeat, fiction. Our goal is to write well--or at least better--but with the freedom to make mistakes. We are not here to necessarily produce polished, publishable fiction, but to rather to carve out a space where writers can experiment and have fun in a relaxed and supportive environment. Speculative fiction--which includes science fiction, supernatural horror, steampunk, dystopian fiction, magical realism, fantastic allegory, and …

Welcome! This meetup aims to be a "gaming clearinghouse" of sorts for the Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC area: We want to connect players to games and games to players. To that end, we want to create and maintain meetings that get roleplayers in the same place, trying different games, meeting different people, and doing the sort of networking that forms new groups, or gets fresh blood into established ones. I try to organize at least one meeting a month (usually a one-shot game); …
