Meeting Description
Who
- Anyone and everyone interested in sci-fi and fantasy, although the clubs have specific genres they cater too many members are fans of anime, Battlestar Galactica, SG-1, Harry Potter, etc. All sci-fi and fantasy guests are always welcomed at meetings!
Why
- All the clubs are active in the community and participate in local parades, volunteer at charitable events, conventions, as well as the occasional movie day and other fun activities (Klingon mini-golf anyone? Pilot's challenge indoor kart racing?)

"We're the noisy group past the art gallery (have to go through two doors to get to the hallway where the room is at). I'll check the lobby frequently, or if in doubt you can ask the friendly security guards. (They don't bite, well one nibbles a bit.)"

IKV Fire Dagger and the Galactic Honor Guard meet on the First Friday of every month, a minimal annual due is required for those interested in being full members of the club, lots of emphasis in the Fire Dagger about the annual canned food drive to help the needy organizations of Sacramento (this past year went to the Sacramento Receiving Home).
USS Oberon and the 6th MSG meet on the Second Friday of every month, a minimal annual due is required for those interested in being full members of the USS Oberon and 6th MSG, no dues are required for the IKV Ice Wolf at this time. Starfleet International membership is encouraged in the USS Oberon and required in the 6th MSG.
All the clubs have created the Sacramento Sci-Fi Groups to help plan events together and work as one to help promote sci-fi/fantasy fandom in the Sacramento area. Mentioned in a recent Sacramento Bee article (February 29th, 2008, front page Scene section) was the Commanding Officer of the USS Oberon, webmistress of the Sacramento Sci-Fi Groups (Melissa Lauritzen, aka your humble contact for the groups).
Lots of fun events are being planned for this year and even more events are being planned for next year (a fan table at WonderCon '09 among other things). Member feedback is welcomed at all the clubs and as mentioned before, we always love guests! There's usually raffles/giveaways at almost every meeting of the clubs.
