USS Oberon, NCC 71820
The USS Oberon was originally launched as a shuttle through Starfleet International in 1993 in the Sacramento, California area and has been going strong ever since. Membership through Starfleet is strongly encouraged but not required to join or be a member. Guests are always welcomed at meetings and we encourage people to come as a guest a few times before deciding whether or not to join as a paying member. (Nominal annual dues are requested to help out with the costs of running the club including the annual awards banquet in the summer).
What does the USS Oberon do? We volunteer to work local conventions, we run a recruiting/informational table through the Sacramento Sci-Fi Group, we participate in several parades throughout the year, we volunteer to help various charitable causes, and of course we have FUN! (Movie days, bowling, mini golf, air shows, etc). We take pride in helping out the local community as well.
We are an eclectic bunch of people, and although the club's format/timeline is Star Trek Voyager we love and welcome all sci-fi/fantasy fans. We exist for fandom!
