What Sort of Events Would Members Like to See Organised?

Hi All

I was just wondering what type of events everyone would like to see organised? I love films but there may be other things people would like to do. Any ideas?

Films are the easy way, however .....
we could do a book club meeting or a exhibition meetup or two???
but my guess is that a film and a post film chat is about right for now

I think films will be our best bet for regular meetups, but I'm sure we can find a few other things for a bit of variation. One of the reasons I joined this group was to get recommendations for sci-fi/fantasy books that I hadn't tried before so I like the idea of the occasional book club event. I also mentioned at the Borders Cafe meetup that there's a Sci-fi collectors event at Braehead in August, it's not soon but it might be worth thinking about for a future meetup.

I too think that books and book discussions should be included as well as films. The number of really good sci fi films is quite limited, whereas the number of good sci fi books is much much larger. How about a borders meet-up every now and then to swap recommendations?
