ADKO is a free form derivitive of the more structured Star Wars costuming and prop building communities. You don't need to own a costume or have a finished R2-D2 to be a member. There are nor dues, no fees, no cost other than gas and tolls required to show up at meets and events like this one and maybe a few bucks to feed yourself if we decide to go out for dinner afterwards. We are a social group with like minded love for the Star Wars movies. That love takes physical form in the props we build and the costumes we wear. ADKO members participate in charity events to raise money for many child friendly charities, such as Toys for Tots, The Salvation Army Kettle drive and fundraising for the Albany Childrens Hospital. We do good works.

If you have the love of all things Star Wars, the time, the means to make a great costume or droid, and the desire to a good deed or two, this will suit you fine.

This is a really good group. It helps out other, worthy endeavors, and we have fun doing it. Let's face it, I can wander my own neighborhood in Jedi robes, I don't HAVE to travel to do it. We raised some money for Autism Speaks at the comic con, and garnered a lot of good press and public good will yesterday at the parade. Let's get involved, people! Signing up means more than a few extra e-mails to read- it means DOING something.

This group is growing with members that have various talents. When these talents are implemented to their potential, we'll be on our way to greater things. I love this group and it's just the beginning
