San Diego Sci Fi Double Features is a casual film club for science fiction fans in the San Diego area to get together once a month and enjoy two science fiction films in an intimate home theater-type setting.
Sleeper (1973)
A clarinet player who also runs a health food store is frozen and brought back in the future by anti-government radicals in order to assist them in their attempts to overthrow an oppressive government. When he goes off on his own, he begins to explore this brave new world that has Orgasmatron booths to replace sex and confessional robots.
Demolition Man (1993)
Frozen in 1996, Simon Phoenix, a convicted killer is "thawed" out for parole well into the 21st century. Revived into a crime free society, Phoenix resumes his murderous rampage, and no one can stop him. John Spartan, the cop who captured Phoenix in 1996 has also been cryogenically frozen, this time for a crime he didn't commit. In desperation they turn to Spartan to help recapture Phoenix.
Admission is FREE, and popcorn is provided ? you can bring snacks or drinks to share.
