A group of us are getting together to go the the Avatar movie a the Regal Theaters at Crossgates Theater this Sunday, January 3rd. We will meet there at 11:AM for the 12noon showng. Hello Folks:

Hope all of you had a happy Thanksgiving. Ellen and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving - November 26th. On Saturday - November 28th, we went down to NYC. We saw the Macts windows, went to the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and had dinner at Mars 2112. The wait for the Empire State Building was exrremely long, The view was amazing. I tool a lot of pictures.
We recently went to see as a group 2012, Christmas Carol - animated with Jim Carey, and the Nutcracker Balllet at the Egg Performing Arts Center at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center. 2012 was good disaster porn. The science was very wacked out. As for the animated Christmas Carol with Jim Carey, it was fantastic animation. Jim Carey did a wonderful job as Scrooge, and the other characters. I feel CGi humans looks really weird. The ghosts looked better. It seems when CGI is used to animate people realistically, it looks really spooky. People look like lifeless drones - Borg like - or like zombies. The eyes look vacant - like there is no life - an empty shell. It would be interesting to see a CGI Star Trek movie or television episode.

Since we are approaching quickly holidays of Hannukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, etc. I thought it would be a good idea to get together. I felt Star Trek - Generations was the most appropriate to see. Lets get together and celebrate. We can do something after we get together at the SUNY Marriott Townplace Suites.

For New Yeaes Eve, Jim Cartwright has invited us to his home to welcome in 2010. An announcement has already gone out about it. I hope you can join us. Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you can make it. Jim is going to make reservations for eating out at Muscatello's restaurant. We need to know how many people will be going.

Hello folks:
On Friday - November 6, John Lawrence, Ellen Silber,Jerry Silber, Patti Duncan, Amy Van Deusen and boyfriend went to the Shekina Photography exhibit at the Boght Arts Center in Cohoes. We were greeted there by Ms. Bobbie Reno and company. The Boght Arts Center is the sight of a former church. We saw Leonard Nimoy's photograps depicting women representing the feminine side of God from the Jewish religion. There were other works of art on display not only representing religion, as well as other topics.

When we met on Sat. 11-7, announcements were made of upcoming conventions, books, DVDS, etc related to Star Trek. New England Fan Experience will be at a Court Yard Marriott in Boston, MAss. from Fiday, November 13th - Sunday, November 15th. Guest stars are Leonard Nimoy, John Delancey, etc. If anyone is interested in going to that convention, please let me know. Some of you have expressed an interest in going to conventions near by. If you would like to do it, please let me know. We can carpool there together.
We then viewed a DVD of the Star Trek Experience, saw some pics of Adam "Mojo" Lebowitz of Foundation Imaging from California. Foundation imaging did the SFX for the recent Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek - Voyager, Deep Space Nine, etc. We saw an episode of Stargate and a Star Trek Episode with the Ferengi. We then played the Star Trek - Seen It Game.

Next meetup, we will continue with the Ferengo theme as well as other topics. Since this meetup is before Thanksgiving, I think I have a lot to be thankful for having good friends with the peoplle in this group. I would like to wish Amy Van Deusen and her boyfriend much happiness and success in their upcoming marriage in March 2010. Much happiness to them both. Q'apla.

I would like to welcome the new members to this group - some of whom I haven;t heard from - Cheryl, Luke Ballenger,Bill, Fred, Mana. I hope you folks can make it.

Logan- Where have you been? I hope you can make it for us to do a Battlestar Galactica themed meetup.

This exhibit of his photography is about spiritual exploration of the feminine side of God in Judaism and spirituality.
