Introduction: Howdy, from the great white north...aka Canada.Calgary just had our spring expo with George Takei in attendance - Pastor Allan presented Mr Takei with a painting outlining Sulu's career. Yes, I painted it!
What is your favorite Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy Movie or TV Series?: Star Trek any incarnation, Lord of Rings trilogy has best cinematics etc (7 Academys), and CSI in that order. I collect Playmates and probably have the largest collection of 5" Trek figures...nearly 700 different characters.
Who is your favorite author?: Can you beat Asimov, read almost every King, met Jack Devitt who King calls Asimov's successor...I agree!
Is there an event in this area that you would like to see this group attend and/or take part in?: Yes I am actively involved in marketing a new ST Con to be held in Calgary next August and will certainly inform you of our club packages.
Are you originally from the DFW area?: Arlington Texas and DFW...I am not getting the relationship. Dalas-Fort Worth - is that Arlington? My sister's mother-in-law's half twin was married to a fellow whose father-in-law's uncle was stationed in Dallas AFB during Nam - does that count? Guess the answer is "no".
What are some of your other favorite Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy interests?: Watch, buy DVD, watch again, build models?, customize aliens?, go to conventions as a Vulcan, Klingon, or Human (some tell me that's negotiable), and cvollect memorabilia - yup, that about covers my fandom.
